About Chernobylite
Total play time: basic playthrough 14 hours, between 20-40 hours if trying different endings
Overview
Chernobylite is a science-fiction survival horror
RPG set in the hyper-realistic, 3D-scanned
wasteland of Chernobyl’s Exclusion Zone,
mainly the abandoned radioactive city of
Pripyat. Chernobylite mixes free exploration
of a disturbing world with unique
survival and RPG mechanics and non-linear
storytelling.
Employing survival horror and RPG features
including base building, companion
management, crafting, stealth and shooting,
the player must complete missions throughout
the Exclusion Zone. Their objectives are to
investigate the Chernobylite conspiracy,
discover what happened to Tatyana, and
survive the horrifying dangers of the
Exclusion Zone, including radiation, disease,
a hostile military presence, brutal creatures
created by Chernobylite, and a mysterious
adversary called the Black Stalker.
Setting/Story
It is set in 2016, 30 years after the Chernobyl
nuclear reactor disaster transformed the
area into a radioactive wasteland known
as the Exclusion Zone. The player takes the
role of Igor Khymynyuk, a physicist once
employed at Chernobyl. Igor returns with
a group seeking Chernobylite, a hugely
powerful technogenic compound — but
his personal agenda is to find his fiancee
Tatyana Amalieva, who disappeared in the
disaster.
Features
• Immersive Horror – The real-world setting of one of the most horrifying disasters in living
memory is portrayed through realistic graphics and sound design, as well as tense, disturbing,
darkly beautiful environments, full of creepy and inexplicable happenings.
• Survival, Stealth, & Combat – Survival in the Zone is not easy, and each day brings new
challenges as your comrades die, supplies diminish and radiation threatens your life. Each
mission is available for a limited time, forcing trade-offs between story-driven investigations
and scavenging vital resources. Avoid detection with stealth takedowns or engage in open
armed combat.
• Base Building & Crafting – Construct a base from which to plan your daily operations and
excursions. Utilize workstations to craft gadgets, traps, and weapons, or modify existing
equipment to your needs.
• Resource & Team Management – Companions are key to your survival and the resolution of
your journey. Plan carefully and assign resources and tasks among your comrades. Don’t
forget to learn from them and add new skills to your arsenal.
• Non-Linear Storytelling & Strategy – No playthrough is the same. The choices and story are
in your hands. Choose wisely whether to trust your comrades or not, use resources for survival
or research, and to face conflicts or avoid them. Use Igor’s self-constructed portal gun to
teleport between locations, see memories through time, and revive (after death) back in time
to change important decisions.
